Misconception 1 : M-tech is for Teaching

That people go for M-tech want to go for the teaching. This is basically the mentality which we artificially created. People doing masters from IITs, NITs , DC,NSIT and others get good jobs and also they are treated differently in Industry. They got higher packages, they got some opportunities for research and also they have the brand with them for life time. But because less students are interested in Masters, because of that the students doing Masters from other institutes are mostly for Teaching because they choose the Masters for teaching profession only.

 

Misconception 2 : People who do not get jobs go for Maters –

Yes, it is right that if you get a salary of Rs15k-Rs20k, people will say that you are fool, going for maters. But guys listen here the difference arises in thought, would you like to work in a company which is giving you money to do the work like maintains, code copying, testing, monitoring or some of these types or would you like to work in a product development.

In the present scenario, We have very limited companies in the product development, They mostly hire fresher from the Campus like IITs,NITs and some more. M-techs from these colleges also have the opportunity to get these jobs. But if you start your career from a service company there are very less chances that you will get this opportunity again in Life.

It is not only the Job but type of Job also should be the concern.

 

Misconception 3 : Will go for the Masters after 2-3 years

 

Guys GATE is different from GRE, it is a completely technical exam and after doing the 2-3 yeas of Job, I can assure you that you will forget the all technical stuff and it will be very tough to prepare for this. This is not like the GRE, mug up some questions get some score and go for MS.

Being a private college students, there are very less chances that you got good university by GRE because of not good recommendation. There is one more thing, that after going for MS there are very less opportunity in India but after doing M-tech you got good opportunities.
